Is this thing on?
Yes, I realize that it's been...oh, about a month. But I've been busy. Crazy busy. And my job has been sucking the life out of me the last three weeks. And it's summer. Have I mentioned I love summer? Because I do. Have I also mentioned how time just seems to slip away? And how the house has been keeping me busy? And that I've been sick? And now M is sick and keeping me on high germ alert? And, and, and...
Sigh.
No excuse, but I seriously need to consider some simplification in the whole life balance spectrum. Does that mean only one blog? Most likely.
So that being said, feel free to check out my more current exploits at cotterpinhouse.wordpress.com.

And...
Happy Mother's Day!
To the woman who taught me right from wrong, told me I could do anything I set my mind to, wouldn't let me settle for second best, believed in me no matter how hair-brained my ideas, and supported me through the good, the bad and the ugly (mostly my teenage years, ahem).
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Love you, Mom!

Pause
So, as you may have noticed, I haven't had much to blog about here lately...Life has been a little crazy at the casa de cotterpin and our slow-moving renovation blog has been getting the full force of my attention- which makes me wonder if I should just consolidate the two into one friendly corner of the internet...or create a new page on my other blog for photos, comments, etc.
Does anyone know how to move over months of blogs to a new format? Admittedly there have been fewer blog entries in the last three months, but let's not talk about that, hmm? Anyway, that info might come in handy.
Stay tuned for future developments...but not too tuned, it might be awhile...

Hold it....hold it...
Crazy busy with kitchen renovation this weekend. With some extra family help (thanks Ed!), we got quite a bit done, but I'm kind of sore from holding up cabinets/moving cabinets/crouching/lifting/etc.
In another type of "hold it" - I did the photo shoot of my friend V's family. They were a blast- and after a few lighting issues- had a great family shoot. It certainly doesn't hurt that they all are super photogenic...V, her son and her granddaughter are below (aren't they cute?).
The good news is that V liked the pictures so much she wants to book anther shoot in July! Maybe I'll have to charge her this next time around...

Time, you ain't no friend of mine*
Too much to do- not enough time to blog about it.
Not a good reason, but a reason nonetheless.
Mostly consuming my waking moments? Well, work, naturally.
But also a doozy of a kitchen remodel- detailed in all it's excruciatingly mundane details- and probably only exciting to those who are also in over their heads in renovation projects. Misery loves company and all that jazz.
In other news?
Planning a family trip to Europe in September- much more on the details when things calm down this summer.
And I might have a freelance photography job- which will be interesting. My friend V would like me to take a family portrait for her- so we're working out details- and I'm trying not to get all anxious about the "what ifs".
*ala Hootie and the Blowfish. BTW- whatever happened to dear, dear Hootie and his blowfish? Yes, their brand of generic rock wasn't destined for Rolling Stones greatness, but it wasn't that bad, was it?
